The event map
The map view on the Events page is a quick visual way to see where in-person events are happening.
How to open it
Click Events in the sidebar, then in the top filter row click the Map button (it sits beside List in a small toggle group). A Google Map appears with a branded pin for each in-person event.
The map remembers where you left it — zoom and centre are saved between sessions, so opening the map again picks up where you were.
Reading the pins
Each pin marks one event location. When multiple events share the same location (a regular meeting spot, say), they're grouped under one pin labelled with the location name and the number of events there. Click any pin to open a small popup with the events at that spot.
Zooming and panning
Use Google's built-in zoom controls or the standard scroll/pinch gestures. Drag to pan.
Virtual events on the map
Virtual events have no real location, so they don't show as pins. Switch back to the List view to see them alongside in-person events.
Filtering on the map
The date, city, search, and event-type filters at the top of the page apply to both views. Filter to "next month" or pick a city and the pins update right away.
Not seeing your area?
A spot with no pins just means there are no upcoming in-person events with a location in that area right now. If you'd like to host one, see the creating-an-event help article — or contact support if you think something should be on the map but isn't.
