Notification settings
If your inbox is filling up with emails from us — or, the opposite, you're missing things — your notification settings are where you fine-tune the volume. The settings page only controls emails. Anything that shows up in the bell dropdown (in-site notifications) is always on and can't be turned off here.
Where to find them
Open your Profile from the sidebar (the navigation menu on the left, or the hamburger menu at the top-left on mobile). Scroll down to the Notification Settings card and click Manage Notifications. That opens the Notification Settings page.
What you'll see
A list of categories — Messaging, Events, Groups, Feed, Connections, Announcements, Likes, and Support. Each row has a checkbox on the right that turns the whole category on or off, and a small chevron on the left that expands the row to show every individual type inside it (each one with its own on/off switch).
The page subtitle says it plainly: Control which email notifications you receive.
Turning a kind off
Click a category's checkbox to turn every email in that category off, or expand the category and use the per-type switches for finer control. For example, you can keep "RSVP milestones" on under Events but turn "Shift reminders" off. Changes save automatically the moment you click.
Turning a kind back on
Click the checkbox or switch again. The change saves right away.
Notifications you can't fully disable
Moderation and Support notifications aren't on this page — they're always-on so we can keep you in the loop on enforcement actions and replies to your support tickets.
Per-group notification preferences
There aren't any. The settings page applies to every group you're in the same way; you can't (yet) tell us "more emails from Halifax, fewer from Edmonton". If you're getting too many group emails overall, turn the Groups category down on the settings page.
Unsubscribe links in emails
Every notification email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking it brings you to this same settings page with a quick confirmation dialog for the specific notification type.
A starting point
A common setup: keep Messaging and Events on, turn Likes off. Adjust over time once you see what fits.
