Requesting lawn signs
Paint The Province lawn signs are distributed from Forever Canadian centers across Alberta. To get signs into your hands, you submit a request from the website. A center lead normally reviews it, and once they approve, you choose your own 30-minute pickup time from the center's published hours. Most requests are reviewed within 2-3 days.
This article walks you through the request form, what happens after approval, how to cancel a pending request, and how to undo a scheduled pickup time.
Opening the request page
Open the Lawn signs section from the sidebar and choose Request signs, or go straight to the request page from your dashboard's Request more signs link.
The page title reads "Request Paint The Province lawn signs", followed by a short note explaining the flow: pick a Forever Canadian center near you, they'll review the request, and a pickup time gets scheduled once it's approved. A second line underneath reminds you that most requests are reviewed within 2-3 days.
Filling out the form
The form has three numbered sections.
1. How many signs? is a stepper with a minus button, a number field, and a plus button. You can also type the number directly. The caption reads "Up to 400 signs per request. If you need more, please submit another request." The maximum is 400 and the minimum is 1. Lawn signs only — no posters. A center lead normally reviews your request before it is approved.
2. Pick a center is shown as a row of card-style options. Each card displays the center's name and city. When that information is available, it also shows an approximate distance based on your postal-code area and the first name of the person assigned to the center. A short caption beneath that name reads "Sarah will follow up once your request is reviewed." (with the actual first name). Tap a card to select that center.
3. Your info is read-only. It shows the name and email already on your account, plus your residential postal code if you've set one. If something looks wrong here, update it in your profile first, then come back.
Submitting the request
When you've picked a center and a quantity, click Submit request. The form replaces itself with a green success message titled "Request submitted." It tells you the request was sent to the center you picked and includes a My signs link to your dashboard, where the pending request is listed.
A confirmation email also arrives in your inbox. A center lead normally reviews the request. If it is approved, use the approval email or your dashboard to continue to pickup scheduling.
After your request is approved
Once a center lead approves your request, two things happen at the same time:
- The approval email arrives in your inbox with the subject line "Your lawn sign request is approved – (request #abc123)". The short ID at the end is the last six characters of your request and helps distinguish it from other requests. The email has a Schedule Pickup button that opens the request detail page. From there, choose Pick pickup time to open the calendar.
- On your My Paint The Province signs dashboard, a new card appears titled Pick a time to come pick up your signs. It names the center and city ("Calgary Center in Calgary approved your 3 signs.") and has one button: Pick a pickup time.
Use Pick a pickup time on the dashboard card, or open the request detail page and choose Pick pickup time. The calendar shows the next four weeks of the center's published pickup hours. Each day shows 30-minute slots labelled Available, Booked, or Outside hours. Tap an Available slot, confirm with the Confirm pickup button at the bottom, and you'll see a confirmation email arrive with the subject "Pickup confirmed: Calgary Center on Fri – (request #abc123)" (the day is abbreviated to three letters in the subject line).
For full details on the calendar, the slot labels, and rescheduling, see Scheduling a pickup.
If your request isn't approved, you'll get a different email titled "Update on your lawn sign request – (request #abc123)" with a short reason from the center lead and a Submit a new request button.
Cancelling a pending request
Plans changed before the lead has reviewed your request? Open your dashboard at My Paint The Province signs. Find the pending request in your My active requests card and tap Cancel on its row. A confirmation dialog opens asking "Cancel this request?" — tap Yes, cancel this request to drop it (no email, no follow-up) or No, keep it to back out.
If the request changes status at the same moment you tap cancel, you'll see an inline message inside the dialog: "This request can no longer be cancelled — its status changed." That means the request is no longer pending. Refresh your dashboard to see its current status.
Cancelling a request after approval (but before pickup)
Once your request is approved, the row in My active requests no longer has a Cancel button — instead the dashboard offers you a Pick pickup time button. Self-service cancellation of the whole request is not supported after approval. The request detail page may still show a red Cancel this request button, but the cancellation will not go through at this stage. Contact support if you need to stop the whole request after approval.
If you only want to undo your pickup time slot (but keep the request alive so you can pick a different time later), that's a different action — see Scheduling a pickup, "Cancelling your pickup time".
What if no centers are listed?
If there are no centers accepting requests right now, the form is replaced by an info notice:
No Paint The Province centers are currently accepting requests. Check back later.
This means there are currently no active centers listed. Check back in a few days, or contact support to ask when centers will be available again.
