Signing out

Most of the time you don't need to sign out — the site keeps you signed in for weeks. But if you're on a shared computer or you just want to start fresh, here's how.

Where to find Sign Out

Sign Out lives on your profile page, not in the sidebar. Click your name or photo at the bottom of the sidebar to open Profile. Scroll to the Account card and press the Sign Out button (it's the one with the arrow icon).

What happens when you sign out

The site forgets who you are on this device and sends you back to the welcome page. The next time you come back, you'll need a fresh sign-in link by email.

Stay signed out on a shared computer

If you used a friend's laptop or a library computer, sign out before you leave so the next person doesn't pick up where you left off.

Sign out on your phone

On a phone, tap the menu icon at the top to open the sidebar, then tap your name or photo at the bottom to open Profile. Scroll to the Account card and tap Sign Out.

Can't reach your profile?

If you're stuck on a screen with no sidebar, refresh the page or visit forever-canadian.ca/profile directly. If you need more help, press No, this didn't help below to send us a message.
