The connections page

Last reviewed 2026-05-15 · About a 2 minute read

A connection is a small two-way link between you and another volunteer. You can message anyone you're connected with — and a few other things, depending on the kind of group you share.

How to open it

Click Connections in the sidebar (or under your name on a small screen). The page header is My Connections.

What you'll see

The page has a few sections:

  • Find People — a search box for finding other volunteers across the platform. You can filter by city using the Filter by city dropdown at the top, then type two or more letters to search by name.
  • Connection Requests — only appears when someone has sent you a request. Each card shows their name and a pair of Accept and Reject buttons.
  • Invitations — a grid of up to five cards showing email invitations you've sent. You can press Invite a Friend in an empty slot to invite someone new. The counter above shows how many invites you've used and how many you have left.
  • My Connections — every volunteer you've connected with, newest first, with a count chip beside the heading.

Why connect

Connections make it easier to message each other. They're optional — you can be a happy volunteer without any.

Looking for a name on your list?

The Find People search looks across the whole platform, not just your connections list. To browse your own connections, scroll to the My Connections list and skim it directly — there's no separate filter for your existing list yet.

Removing a connection

There's no remove-connection button on the page today. If you need a connection removed, press No, this didn't help below to send us a message.

Connection vs. group membership

Being in the same group as someone doesn't automatically connect you. Connections are a separate, opt-in step.
