Virtual events
A virtual event takes place on a video call instead of at a physical address. The site supports any service — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, YouTube — by holding the call link and showing it to people who RSVP'd.
Setting one up
When you create or edit an event, pick Virtual / Online Event as the format. Paste the video-call link from your meeting tool into the Video or Streaming Link field on the Details step.
When attendees see the link
The link is shown to anyone who RSVPs Yes or Maybe. To keep the call private, the link is hidden from anyone who hasn't RSVP'd.
Keep available after the event
On a virtual event there's a Keep available after event date toggle. Switch it on if you're recording the call and want members to come back and watch later — the link stays clickable after the event date, and the event shows up in the Recordings section at the bottom of the All Events page.
Changing the link
If the meeting link changes (your account regenerated it, you moved tools), edit the event and paste the new link. There's no automatic email when you update an event, so it's worth posting a note in the relevant city group or messaging attendees from the event page so they pick up the new link.
In-person and virtual together
A single event is one or the other. If you want both, create two events and link them in the description so people can pick.
Recording the call
The site doesn't record the call — that's up to your meeting tool. If you do record, mention it in the description so people know going in.
