Your Paint The Province signs dashboard
The My Paint The Province signs page is your personal hub for the lawn-sign campaign. It's where you go to see what you've requested, what's coming up, where you've installed signs, and the history of everything you've done so far.
Open it from the sidebar at Lawn signs → My signs.
What you'll see on your first visit
If this is your first time on My Paint The Province signs, the page is intentionally simple: a banner at the top showing your home FSA and role, and a warm Welcome to Paint The Province card with a single button — Request your first signs.
Click that button to go to the request form. Once your first request lands, the rest of the page (inventory, active requests, installs, activity) appears automatically.
What you'll see
Once you have at least one request, install, or sign in inventory, the page is laid out top-to-bottom in eight sections (some conditional):
- A header that greets you by first name ("Welcome back, Sarah" for someone named Sarah), shows your home FSA, and carries a role chip (Volunteer, or Center lead · Calgary — with the actual city — if you've been assigned to a center).
- Your inventory — the first card after the header. Shows how many signs you have ready to install, with an Install a sign button when the count is above zero. When it's zero, the card still shows the count and a Request signs button.
- A row of quick actions — a Request more signs button that takes you back to the sign-request form.
- Pick a time to come pick up your signs (shown when you have an approved request that doesn't have a pickup time yet) — see "After your request is approved" below.
- Your upcoming pickups (shown when you have a pickup time scheduled) — see "Your upcoming pickups" below.
- My active requests — a table (or stacked card list on a phone) of every sign request you've made, with the current status.
- Already installed — every address where you've recorded a sign, including the address or postal code, the number of signs installed there, and when the most recent install was recorded.
- Activity — a vertical timeline of recent events: requests, approvals, pickups, installs, and cancellations.
After your request is approved
When a center lead approves a request, a fresh card slides in near the top of the page titled Pick a time to come pick up your signs. The card names the center and the approved quantity ("Calgary Center in Calgary approved your 3 signs. Choose a 30-minute slot that works for you.") and has one blue button: Pick a pickup time.
Tap that button to open a calendar showing the next four weeks of the center's published pickup hours. You pick a slot, confirm with Confirm pickup, and the card disappears — replaced by a new Your upcoming pickups entry farther down the page.
For step-by-step help with the calendar (how to read the days, what the slot labels mean, what to do if it's full), see Scheduling a pickup.
Your upcoming pickups
Once you've picked a time, the Your upcoming pickups card shows what you scheduled. Each row carries the center name and address, the day and time of the pickup ("Fri May 30, 10:00 AM"), a one-line reminder ("Show this email or your name when you arrive at the center"), and three buttons on the right:
- Reschedule — opens the same calendar so you can pick a different slot. Once you confirm a new time, the row updates and you'll get a "Pickup rescheduled" email.
- Cancel pickup time — drops just your pickup time slot, not the request itself. The card flips back to Pick a time to come pick up your signs so you can choose again later. No email is sent.
- Mark picked up — use this when you actually arrive and collect your signs. A confirm dialog opens ("Mark this request as picked up?"); tap Yes, I've picked up these signs to record the pickup, or No, not yet to back out.
My active requests
Each row shows the Quantity, Center, Status, and the relevant date. Status pills carry a small icon as well as a colour, so the status is readable even if the colour is hard to distinguish:
- Pending (amber, hourglass icon) — the center hasn't decided yet.
- Approved (blue, calendar icon) — the center said yes, and you can pick a pickup time.
- Scheduled (navy, calendar-clock icon) — you've picked a pickup time and the day is on its way.
- Picked up (green, check-circle icon) — you've collected the signs.
- Rejected (red, X-circle icon) — the center declined the request. Click the row to see the reason if one was provided.
- Cancelled (grey, X-circle icon) — you cancelled before pickup.
Each row carries a small button on the right that changes by status:
- Pending rows show a red Cancel button. Clicking it opens a confirm dialog with Yes, cancel this request / No, keep it — the request isn't withdrawn until you confirm.
- Approved rows show a Pick pickup time button. Clicking it opens the same slot picker as the Pick a time to come pick up your signs card.
- Scheduled rows show a Reschedule button. Clicking it opens the slot picker pre-selected to your current time so you can move it without re-entering everything.
Click anywhere else on a row to open the request detail page, which shows the center address, request date, any rejection reason, and (for active requests) the same action buttons as the row.
Already installed
If you've installed signs, you'll see one row per address. Each row shows the address or postal code, the number of signs installed there, and when the most recent install was recorded.
If a row shows fewer signs than you remember installing, take a look at your Activity timeline below.
Activity
The Activity section is a reverse-chronological view of everything that's happened with your account. It's capped at the most recent 25 events; older entries fall off as you become more active. Each entry has an icon, a short description ("Requested 5 signs from Calgary Center"), and the date.
Common questions
Where's my goal progress? We've simplified the dashboard for now — the personal goal card is hidden in this version. Your installed count is still visible on the activity timeline as you complete installs.
How do I cancel a request? If the request is still Pending, cancel from two places — the row in My active requests (a single-word Cancel button), or the request detail page itself (a Cancel this request button). Both surfaces open the same confirm dialog. After approval the Cancel button moves to the request detail page only; from your dashboard's row, the button flips to Pick pickup time instead.
How do I cancel just the pickup time (not the whole request)? That's a separate action. On a row inside Your upcoming pickups, tap the red Cancel pickup time button. A confirm dialog opens ("Cancel this pickup time?") with two buttons: Keep it to back out, or Yes, cancel pickup time to drop just the time slot. Your request stays alive and the Pick a time to come pick up your signs card reappears so you can choose again later. No email is sent.
Acting on a request from the email link
When the center approves or rejects your request, the confirmation email links to the request's detail page. The page headline tells you exactly where the request stands:
- "Your request was approved" — the center said yes; pick a pickup time.
- "Sign request" — your pickup time is already scheduled (the page falls back to this generic title for SCHEDULED status); the date and time live in the body of the page just below.
- "Your signs are ready to pick up" — a legacy headline that still appears on older approved-with-pickup-time requests from before the self-scheduling change. Most newly-approved requests now show the "Sign request" title instead.
- "Your request is pending review" — the center hasn't decided yet.
- "You picked up your signs" — the pickup has been recorded.
- "You cancelled this request" — you cancelled before pickup.
- "We had to decline this request" — the center rejected it.
The status chip moves into a small caption below the headline, so the headline itself reads like a sentence.
The action buttons below the headline change by status:
- If the request is still pending, you'll see a red Cancel this request button. Clicking it opens a confirm dialog with the Yes, cancel this request / No, keep it choice — your request isn't withdrawn until you confirm.
- If the request was approved but you haven't picked a pickup time yet, you'll see a primary Pick pickup time button plus a red Cancel this request button. The first opens the slot picker; the second cancels the request entirely.
- If your pickup time is already scheduled, three buttons stack: a primary Mark picked up, an outlined Reschedule, and a red Cancel pickup time. The first records the pickup once you arrive; the second reopens the slot picker; the third drops just the time so you can pick again.
Once a request reaches a final state — picked up, cancelled, or declined — the action buttons disappear. The page just reads as a record of what happened.
The activity timeline grows over time
The Activity card shows the three most recent events by default to keep the page short. If you have more than three, a Show all N events button appears at the bottom of the card — tap it to expand the list. Tap Show fewer to collapse it again.
After you install a sign
When you record an install through the Install a sign button, a green confirmation appears at the bottom of the screen: "Thank you — your sign has been recorded."
