Pinned posts in a group
Pinning a post inside a group keeps it at the very top so everyone in the group sees it before they scroll on.
Who can pin
The group's creator and any group admin can pin or unpin a post inside their group. Platform admins can pin too. Regular members can't pin.
How to pin a post
Find the post in the group's stream. Click the More options button (the three-dot icon) at the top-right of the post and pick Pin post. The post jumps to the top of the group's feed and gets a small Pinned label — and it stays there across all sessions and days until it's unpinned.
How to unpin
Same More options menu, pick Unpin post. The post drops back to its original spot in the timeline.
How many pins can a group have
A group can have one pinned post at a time. Pinning a new post unpins the previous one automatically — no juggling needed.
Who sees a pin action
No notification or email goes out when a post is pinned or unpinned, so you won't spam the group. The action is recorded in the Activity tab of the Admin panel, so other admins can see who pinned what.
What a pin is good for
A reminder about a coming event, a short welcome to new members, a thank-you after a big day. Pins work best when they're short and time-bound.
Pins on the national feed
The national feed has its own pins, controlled by the small staff team. See the Pinned posts on the feed article for that.
