What is the feed?

Last reviewed 2026-05-16 · About a 2 minute read

The feed is the page you land on when you sign in. It's a running list of what other volunteers across Alberta are sharing right now.

What you'll see

At the top is the post composer, with the placeholder Share something with your network…. Below it is a row of filter chips — Saved, Missions, Events — for narrowing the feed to just those kinds of posts. Tap one to filter, tap it again to clear.

Below the filters is the feed itself: a mix of posts. A quick photo from a coffee chat, a short note about an upcoming meet-up, a link to a news article, a question asked of everyone. Newest posts come first.

Who can post

Any signed-in volunteer can post to the feed. Posts are visible to everyone signed in to the site.

Pinned posts

Sometimes you'll see a post marked Pinned at the very top, with a small pin icon and a left border in the brand colour. Those are short notes from the team that we'd like everyone to see. Pins stay up until an admin takes them down — there's no automatic expiry, but most don't stick around for long.

Why don't I see all my city's posts here?

The feed is Alberta-wide — it shows posts from across the province, not just your area. If you'd rather see only your city's news, open your city's group instead. The group has its own private feed for just that group's members.

Can I hide a post I don't want to see?

Not yet. If someone else's post breaks our rules, you can report it from the three-dot menu on the post (your own posts show Edit and Delete in that menu instead — no Report).
