Becoming a center volunteer lead
Paint The Province centers can add new volunteer leads through a request flow on each center page. A signed-in member opens the center, checks the address, hours, upcoming pickup windows, current leads, and statistics, then sends an availability draft for existing leads or admins to review.
Volunteer from a center page
Open Centers under Lawn signs, choose a center, and click Volunteer at this center. The page explains that approved center volunteers help hand out lawn signs, review sign requests, set pickup times, see center inventory and activity, and help run pickup days. If you already volunteer at that center, the button is replaced by a note saying you're already a center volunteer. If you already submitted a request that is still waiting for review, the page shows Your volunteer request is pending.
On the application page, the Availability field accepts plain language such as "Mondays 1 pm to 3 pm". Click Parse availability to turn that description into dated windows through October 19, 2026, or click Enter manually to add windows yourself.
The loading card rotates short status labels while the parser works. If parsing succeeds, the Availability draft card shows the windows that will be submitted. If parsing only partly succeeds, a warning lists the dropped windows. If parsing fails, the same manual editor is shown so you can still continue.
Review the dates and times, remove anything that does not fit, add any missing rows, then click Submit volunteer request.
After submitting
Your request opens in a review view with your original availability and confirmed windows. Existing leads for that center and admins get a decision request. They can open the request from the center's Volunteer requests card or from the email button.
When the request is approved, you become a lead for that center. Your availability windows are kept as lead-availability metadata; they do not create pickup windows. Pickup windows are still published by leads from the center hours tools.
