What are groups?
A group is a smaller community inside Forever Canadian. Most groups are organized around an Alberta city or region, so the people in them can actually meet up and work together. (Forever Canadian is currently Alberta-only.)
Why groups exist
The main feed is great for big news, but most volunteering is local. Groups let the people in your city plan things just for your area — a coffee chat, a flyer drop, a community-fair table — without clogging up everyone else's feed.
What's inside a group
Each group has its own posts and its own members list. Posts inside a group are visible only to that group's members. Events live on the main Events page rather than inside the group, but a group's organizers often coordinate them through group posts.
Open vs. invite-only
Some groups are Open — anyone signed in can join with one click. Others are Invite Only and show a small Invite Only badge; you need a current member or the creator to add you. Most city groups are Open.
Who runs a group
Each group has a creator (the person who started it) and may have one or more admins. Together they keep things friendly, pin important posts, and approve members where needed.
Can I be in more than one group?
Yes. Many volunteers join their home city's group plus the group for a town they used to live in or visit often. There's no maximum.
Where to start
If you've just signed up, find your city's group first — there's a separate help article on that.
